Taking Stigma to the Trash

During the 6th annual Taking Stigma to the Trash run, Winnipeg community runners have set a goal to run 12 hours with hope to raise awareness around mental health and Taking Stigma to the Trash.

Taking Stigma to the Trash began in light of a personal connection to mental health tragedies in the community, with hope to raise awareness around mental health and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. This event is now a community initiative involving multiple runners working together to #TrashStigma for mental health. Join Junel Malapad in Taking Stigma to the Trash on Garbage Hill with a donation to CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg!

Proceeds raised in Taking Stigma to the Trash will fund school-based mental illness literacy and stigma reduction programming in schools and post-secondary institutions, and in programs for youth transitioning out of the child welfare system.
