CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg achieves its mission by being a leader in the evolution of Manitoba’s mental health and addictions systems. We contribute our knowledge, resources and skills to provincial policy development and implementation. We promote mental health in collaboration with others. We advocate for equitable access to mental health services and champion the reduction of mental health disparities. We also serve our branches in building their governance and leadership capacities.
CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg is a dedicated partner within the network of Canadian Mental Health Associations at the national, provincial and local levels. The divisional office of CMHA in Manitoba works closely with its 5 local branches inclusive of the Winnipeg Region in communities across the province to ensure the utilization of best practices in the organization, management and delivery of services to consumers and families of individuals with mental illnesses, dual diagnosis and concurrent disorders.
CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg is grounded in a solid history of listening and responding to citizens. We develop innovative programs and services that support people to be at the center of their own mental health recovery and well-being journey while building understanding and supportive communities.
Following the tradition of the CMHA National Office, which recently celebrated over 100 years of service, our Manitoba provincial and branch offices work in partnership with individuals and other community agencies to increase awareness around mental health, advocate for the advancement of rights, and enhance access to effective programs and services.
CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg operates as both a divisional and branch office. As the divisional CMHA office for Manitoba, we engage in strategic planning and setting the course for the organization provincially, guide effective policy development, and support CMHA branches in Manitoba. As a Winnipeg branch, we provide a broad array of innovative supports and services reaching thousands of people each year within the Winnipeg community.
The Manitoba Regional Leadership Council, made up of all CMHA branch chairs in Manitoba, exists to develop and support a coordinated provincial strategy for the CMHAs in Manitoba on areas such as policy, advocacy, programming, fundraising and development and ensures engagement from all Manitoba regions.
