The Province of Manitoba continues to support innovative programming at CMHA, Manitoba
and Winnipeg, supporting Manitobans to honour and promote their mental health and
achieve recovery and well-being. An enhancement to the CMHA Service array that has
been made possible with support from the Province of Manitoba is Employment with
Supports.
Employment with Supports provides individuals with mental health concerns who are
underemployed, unemployed or in receipt of EIA with the supports and services required to
achieve and maintain satisfying and sustainable employment. The service utilizes an
employment first approach, recognizing the importance of meaningful roles in recovery.
“Supporting CMHA to extend its reach and offer mental health supports to adults preparing
to enter the workforce is a priority for our government as we strive to reduce barriers to full
citizenship,” said Families Minister Scott Fielding.
We are also pleased to announce the opening of its new recovery and well-being college,
the CMHA Learning Centre. “Wawanesa is proud to support the Canadian Mental Health
Association and their important work in Manitoba and across the country assisting
individuals and families with addressing their mental health needs,” said Jeff Goy, President
and Chief Executive Officer, The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company. “Our gift honours
the CMHA’s 100th year and supports the Learning Centre which gives participants access to
personal tools so they can experience recovery and thrive within healthy and supportive
communities.”
